The accommodation
‘La Casa de la Colina’, the house on the hill, is a beautifully renovated farmhouse set in a tranquil and wonderfully scenic location in the heart of Andalucia, Southern Spain. Close to the traditional Spanish town of Iznajar with its beautiful lake, it enjoys stunning views of the surrounding olive studded countryside and is a perfect holiday retreat for either a short break, or long vacation.
The house sleeps 2-8 persons and is easily accessed from the UK and Northern Europe. Malaga airport is just over an hour drive from where there is a large range of low cost flight options.
The accommodation is arranged around a front terrace. On the ground floor, the entrance hallway leads on the one side to the living room, and on the other the kitchen and main bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with electric oven, gas hob, juicer and fridge; the bathroom with bath, and separate double shower area. Internally the house has been finished to a high standard by its architect owner’s, the neutral décor complementing well the rich timber and fabric furnishings reflecting the Moorish influence of the area.
Stairs from the hallway lead to a large upper landing area containing books and magazines. The remainder of the first floor consists of a master bedroom with stripped olive wood beams and king size bed, and two further bedrooms equipped with a double bed and twin beds respectively.
To the side of the main house, is the annex which is available for larger parties of 6-8. It is a self-contained suite with double bed, its own bathroom and kitchenette. It has a small terrace to the rear, and is finished in décor to match that of the main house.
Externally there is an 8m long pool with terrace area. The pool has an ‘infinity edge’ offering stunning views of the countryside beyond, whilst the adjoining stepped terrace is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine. The terrace also has shaded areas and is equipped with a BBQ.
Close to the pool is the Alcazar room. This inside/outside space continues the Moorish theme of the property being tiled with colourful Moroccan style ceramic and glass mosaic tiles. It’s the perfect spot to cool off or unwind with a book.
The front terrace has further outside seating, and is a lovely spot for alfresco dining. It also has access to a utility room with drying space and separate WC.
The house is equipped with washing machine, TV, DVD player, books, games and WIFI to name a few. Please enquire if there are specific facilities you are interested in.
